Import products into Shopify with handles, variants, and inventory. Below are the 19 columns the import expects, including 3 required fields, the formats each one accepts, and the errors that most often cause a failed import.

Conditional rules
- When Variant Weight is provided, Variant Weight Unit is also required.
Common Shopify Products import errors
- Column headers that don’t match Shopify Products field names (for example "Slug" instead of "Handle").
- Missing or empty required columns: Handle, Title, Variant Price.
- Handles containing spaces, capitals, or special characters.
- Yes/No, Y/N, or 1/0 values where the importer expects TRUE/FALSE.
- Numbers with currency symbols, thousands separators, or European decimal commas.
- Website values missing the http:// or https:// prefix.
- Picklist values that don’t exactly match the allowed options, including capitalization.
- Values longer than the field’s maximum length, which the importer truncates or rejects.
- Hidden problems: wrong file encoding, a byte-order mark, extra blank rows, and leading or trailing whitespace.
